Birse and Ballogie Community Council
B²C² is in the Marr area of Aberdeenshire. It is a voluntary body, which exists within a statutory framework, and which has been granted statutory rights of consultation.
The general purpose of B²C² is to ascertain, co-ordinate and express the views of the entire community within its agreed boundaries. B²C² can help ensure that the Aberdeenshire Council is as fully informed as possible about the circumstances, needs and wishes of local communities. B²C² is non-party-political and non-sectarian in its discussions and in its decision-making. B²C², unlike other community organisations, are statutorily included in the consultation process for all planning applications affecting their area.
B²C² usually meets at 7.30 pm six times a year on the last Monday of a month, at various venues in the community. The local Aberdeenshire Councillor also attends these meetings. The AGM is held in April.
Items dealt with by B²C² include: Planning; Roads and Safety; Marr area specialist groups; Correspondence; Local Plan; Land and Forestry; and many other weird and wonderful topics which crop up!!
